COMBINED WINTER WOOL SALE

ATTRACTIVE CATALOGUE FOR TUESDAY Late yesterday afternoon wool was still being received into store by some brokers for the combined winter sale of crutchings and oddments which is to be held in the Repertory Theatre, Christchurch, on Tuesday. This is because some farmers who had been unable to crutch through bad weather took advantage of this week's fine spell, and rushed their wool in at the last moment. Broken report that a very good and representative catalogue, both of halfbred and crossbred wool is being assembled and the bulk of it has opened up in good condition. Included in the catalogue is a small percentage of early shorn wool and this, too, has opened up in attractive condition. At this stage the total number of bales for inclusion in the catalogue is not available and indications are that the tally may be down slightly on last year, when the catalogue was made up of 8746 bales, comprising 5700 from Christchurch and 3046 from Timaru.
