ACCOMMODATION INCREASE FQR VISITORS ... ~ ‘"The Special Service DUNEDIN. August 12. A progressive step in providing greatly increased accommodation for visiting horses has.been made by the committee of the Forbury Park /Trotting Club. The committee has discussed this problem for some time and the club is rapidly becoming self-contained for horse accommodation. The problem became acute because of , the demolition of many horse boxes in the district. At the present time the grounds, and buildings are in wonderful condition because of the work of the caretaker. Mr J. N. Donaldson, and his staff. The stables in Moreau street, where there are 19 boxes, have been completely renovated with double brick frontages, new roofs and doors. In addition, the club has recently bought a property in Victoria road, and with 10 conversions from stalls to stables, and with the existing 10 boxes in the grounds, 53 boxes and 16 horse yards Will be available for the spring meeting in October. 'Qualifying trials will be held by the dub on Saturday, October 1. N.Z. Futurity Stakes, 15M First forfeits must be declared with the secretary, Ashburton Trotting Club, not later than 4 p.m. on Monday, 15th inst. It is not necessary to notify the club unless withdrawal is Intended, when £1 forfeit fee is payable. Advt.
