PUBLIC NOTICES NORTH CANTERBURY ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY. COUNCIL VACANCIES. NOMINATIONS are invited to reach the undersigned not later than AUGUST 31, 1955, from Registered Members of the above-named Society to fill the vacancies on the Council occurring in respect of the following districts:— (1) The City of Christchurch, and boroughs of Sumner, Lyttelton, and Riccarton, and the Counties of Walmairi and Heathcote FOUR MEMBERS (2) The Counties of Ellesmere, Springs, Halswell, Paparua, Mount Herbert, Akaroa, Wairewa, and the borough of Akaroa, and the town districts of Leeston and Southbridge ONE MEMBER Nominations ..must indicate the district within which the nominee resides and in respect of which he is nominated. All such nominations shall bear the signatures of the Proposer, Seconder, and Nominee, who must all be Registered Members of the Society. A general ballot of Registered Members will be held not later than 14 days after the next Annual Meeting of the Society on November 15 next for the purpose of filling such vacancies. IT IS HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that the Waimairl County Council at a Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, North road, Papanui, at 7.30 P.m. on Thursday, the 18th day of August, 1955. proposes to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the raising of the following Water Sppply Loans:— 1. Bryndwr Water Supply Loan, 1955: £12,400. 2. Middleton Water Supply Loan, 1955: £5700. 3. Papanui Water Supply Loan, 1955: To be raised, for the purpose of purchasing existing high-pressure water supgly installations in the State Housing locks in the Wairarapa, Middleton, and Papanui Ridings of the County.
