TRACTOR RUNS OVER FARMER

MUD PREVENTS SERIOUS INJURY (New Zealand Press Association) DANNEVIRKE, August 11. The depth of mutf around a gate apparently saved a Tataramoa farmer. Cyril Frank Bond, aged 37, from serious or fatal injury when the tractor he hid been driving on Tuesday morning passed over his chest and legs. It is supposed that Mr Bond dismounted from the machine to open a gate on his property and that he slipped and was caught in a' wheel when he again went to mount. It appears that he was draggged to the ground, the fractor forcing him into the mud as it passed over him. Mr Bond was admitted to hospital with chest and knee injuries, but his condition today was reported to be satisfactory.
