South Africa was. left 106 runs short of victory, with six wickets in hand, against Gloucestershire when rain forced a draw at Cheltenham today. South Africa replied with >197 and three for 168 against Gloucestershire’s 184 and 226. The English test player. Tom Graveney. added only five runs to his overnight 93 this morning, and the county's last four wickets fell for 39 runs. South Africa, left with 214 runs to score in 270 minutes, lost their opening pair. Murray and Goddard, with only five runs up. Cheetham and’ Endean rallied, but scored slowly. The score was 33 when rain interrupted play for nearly twp hours. Endean was caught with the total at 52. Then McLean came in when Cheetham was at 31 and quickened the scoring pace McLean hit nine fours in a not out 50, surpassing Cheetham’s unfinished 36.
