MINISTER’S REPLY TO QUESTION

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 10. Replying to a question by Miss M. B. Howard (Opposition, Sydenham), the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Hanan) said in the House of Representstives teday that he was informed the North Canterbury Hospital Board had made an appointment of a plastic surgeon at the plastic unit at Burwood Hospital in place of the previous holder, and that the appointee, at present in England, was expected to begin duties about January. 1956. The board had on its staff two other surgeons with experience in plastic surgery, said the Minister. He was further informed that the arrangement had been that, if necessary, a senior and highly-experienced plastic surgeon from Wellington would assist the two other surgeons until the new appointee began his duties.
