Sir, —The name of the Belgian town Of Mons is connected with an interesting event in military history. It was at Landrecies, near Mons, on August 24, 1914. that the 9th Lancers rode in an attack against the enemy gun positions. which is considered to have been the last classic cavalry charge of the British At my.—Yours, etc., DAVID G.
