AIDING CRIPPLED CHILDREN

ANNUAL MEETING OF SOCIETY MR J. L. WILL RETIRES FROM PRESIDENCY Mr J. Leslie Will retired last evening from the presidency of the Can-terbury-Westland branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society—an office he had held continuously since the inception of the branch 21 years ago. An inscribed resolution recording his distinguished contributions to the society in shaping its policy and developing its services and appreciating his knowledge, wisdom, and sympathy for the benefit of children was presented to Mr Will by the incoming president (Mr L. G. K. Steven), with whom he has been associated throughout the life of the society. Supporters everywhere shared the satisfaction at thq honour conferred on Mr Will in the Queen's Birthday list. Mr Steven said. The office of patron was created at the meeting last evening and Mr Will was elected to it on the motion of Dr. D. E. Hansen, who said Canterbury and Westland were fortunate in having in their midst the man who had done most for the New Zealand Crippled Children Society.
