Argentine Priest’s Funeral
(Rec. 10 p.m.) BUENOS AIRES. August 8.
Police armed with sub-machine-guns guarded a Roman Catholic Church today during a solemn funeral mass for its priest who died of injuries inflicted by a mob during the June 16 revolt. The priest, Father Jacobo Wagner, aged 71; failed to rally from a beating inflicted while he was trying to help Cardinal Caggiano of Rosario escape from the church. Father Wagner is believed to be the first priest to die of injuries suffered in the revolt.
