Valiant Grounded In Australia
DARWIN, August 9. The Royal Australian Air Force has grounded Australia’s first “V” bomber. The bomber, a Vickers Valiant jet. yesterday made a record-breaking flight from Singapore to Darwin. Officials then grounded the Valiant, when mechanics found structural fatigue in the tail assembly.
After the fault has been rectified, the Valiant will fly to Woomera, where it will make high speed, high altitude bombing tests.
