Collapse at Billiards Table.— An elderly man collapsed while playing billiards in a Christchurch saloon early yesterday afternoon and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital, but was J2 und to be dead on arrival. He was George Lionel Baxter, aged 83, of 76 Retreat road. An inquest into his death will be opened this morning. Battlefields Pilgrimage.— The Christchurch R.S.A. has sent forward onlv three applications to join the pilgrimage of battlefields to be made next, year. Unless a Dominion total of 40 is exceeded, the tour will be cancelled.
