BREACHES OF TRUST ALLEGED
MAN ELECTS TRIAL BY JURY (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, July 13. Alexander Daniel Smillies, aged 46, a company manager, of Christchurch, and formerly of Invercargill, elected to be tried before a jury when he faced 15 charges in the Invercargill Magistrate’s Court this morning. The charges included 14 of criminal breaches of trust involving £1785 belonging to the estate of the late George Lawrence, a farmer, of Hedgehope, and one of theft of a cheque for £2O belonging to the late George Teviotdale, a farmer, of Isla Bank.
