ATOM FALLOUT DANGERS
U.S. LEAD IN STUDY URGED (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 pjm.) WASHINGTON, July 3. Senator John Sparkman (Democrat, Alabama) urged today prompt Senate passage of a resolution —now under consideration by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee—asking President Eisenhower to take the lead in creating an international commission to study the full effects of atomic fallout on the world’s populations. Senator Sparkman said approval of the. resolution before the Big Four “summit" conference in two weeks would arm Mr Eisenhower with a powerful psychological weapon against expected Soviet moves.
