TWO HOUSES SOLD AT AUCTION
ELLESMERE FARM PASSED IN A five-roomed house at 7 Woodbridge street, Cashmere, was sold at auction for £2400 yesterday. Bidding opened at £2OOO, and rose by three £lOO bids and two of £5O. The house stands on a quarter-acre section, and was offered on behalf of the trustees of the estate of Miss M. J. Campbell. Another house at 20 Springfield road was sold for £l3y5 —After an opening bid of £lOOO, bidding rose by £5O bids and one of £25. The house has four main rooms and stands on a section of 12 perches. Bidding rose by bids of £2 10s from £4O to £47 10s an acre before a farm property at Ellesmere was passed in at a third sale. The property is 22 miles from Christchurch, and has an area of 182 acres 1 rood 33 perches. Buildings include a five-roomed house, a combined implement and woolshed, an iron milking shed, and a concrete tank. The property was offered on behalf of the trustees of the late Mr V. E. Nicholas.
