TRAP SHOOTING
INTERNATIONAL CONTEST WON BY N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN. June 30. New Zealand, for the second successive year, won the international clay target shooting teams’ contest for the Donald Macintosh Shield. Cabled advioe of the result was received today by the national secretary of the Gun Clubs’ Association, Mr W. H. Stewart, of Dunedin. New Zealand also took third placing in the contest. which resulted: — New Zealand A team, 1462 points, 1; Australia, 1444, 2; New Zealand B team, 1441, 3; England, 1434, 4. Teams from Scotland, Wales and Ireland also competed. The individual scores for the winning team were:—H. C. Walker (Hakataramea) 100, F. Hartley (Tauranga) 100, J. McKenzie (Seaward Downs. Southland) 99, W. R. Robinson (Hastings) 98. W. Bringworlh (Hamilton) 98, D. G. Wareham (Blenheim) 98, A. Brown (Lauder) 98, B. G. Begg (Kirwee) 98. D. F. Gunn (Hastings) 97, W. Nix (Hastings) 97’ L. Curtis (Hamilton) 97, J. B. Thomson (Taihape) 96, L. Eden (Christchurch) 96, R. Liddell (Hastings) 95, R. Stott (Kirwee) 95. The international contest was held in conjunction with the New Zealand championships in Hamilton last March.
