Prayers For Big Four Conference

The Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr Geoffrey Fisher) today called fo” special prayers for world peace throughout Britain on Sunday, July 17 the eve of the Big Four conference at Geneva. ~T h£ e P r evident of the World Council of Churches will appeal to all member churches to join in the prayers, Dr. Fisher told a diocesan conference in London. “The Geneva conference is of very great importance and might give a new and hopeful turn to the history of our times,” the Primate added. As at all times, so especially at this time, must all Christian people pray that from the hearts of these history-makers falsities, fears, and suspicions may be removed, and that by the degree of their agreement and understandings they may also be peace-makers.”
