NEW JAPANESE COMPANY
MERGER FOR TRADE OVERSEAS

Japan’s largest post-war trading company, which will deal in almost every imaginable commodity, will have 32 offices overseas, and employ 4000 people, will be formed on July 1 when the three present companies merge. The companies are former members of the Mitsui Bussan Kaisha, a leading Japanese industrial combine until the end of the war, the Daiichi Bussan Kaisha Nippon, a machinery trading company, and the Daiichi Trading Company. The new company will operate under the name of Daiichi Bussan Akisha. The company’s authorised capital is £5,000,000.
