N.Z RELIABILITY CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT WON BY V. RUSH, OF CHRISTCHURCH Vic Rush, of Christchurch, won the New Zealand Auto-Cycle Union’s reliability championship which was held over the week-end. The championship was conducted by the Canterbury Auto-Cycle Club and attracted 28 entrants from Palmerston North to Dunedin. The course on Saturday was over a distance of about 30 miles on the Port Hills and riders met snow from the Sign of the Bellbird to Gebbies Pass. Yesterday's course was about 60 miles on the flat from Coes Ford, along the Selwyn river and back to Christchurch by way of Burnham. Rush, who was riding a 250 c.c. Ariel, won the event with the loss of only four points. There were no time sections. All sections were observed and the trial was entirely a test of a rider’s skill.
S. Harrison, of Christchurch, was second. Harrison rode a 600 c.c. Ariel and lost 37 points. N. McCutcheon (Dunedin), 200 c.c. Francis Barnett, was third with the loss of 45 points. This was won by the Pioneer Motor Club’s team (Christchurch), which lost 209 points. Corsair Motor-cycle Club (Christchurch) was second with the less of 236 points.
