CUSTOMS RAID ON SHIP
CARGO ALLEGED TO BE MISSING (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 17. Customs officers and wharf police yesterday afternoon raided the Houston City, which is unloading at Pipitea Wharf after a voyage direct from Liverpool. The raid was the sequel to a warning that stolen cigarettes were being traded in Wellington. During the search it was found that liquor and other items of general cargo were missing from the ship. The Houston City is the only vessel m port carrying the brand of stolen cigarettes being offered in the city.
