Winners of one race were Sweet Jewel, Marsel Single Lord, Apple Cider, Worthy Wilkes, and Tarzan Grattan. The Pukekohe trainer, H. M. Allen, Is third on the list with 27 wins, followed by M. Grantham and P. Skousgaard with 10. Holmes brought his total number of winning drives during his association with trotting to 732 with his total for the season of 67. He has now headed the list of drivers on seven occasions. He is also the leading driver of straight-out trotters with 16 wins. Holmes had most success this season with the speedy trotter, Recruit, which he drove in his eight wins. He was successful five times behind Lauder Lass and four times behind Secure. He won three races with Midday, Adan, Worthy Chief and Tui Scott, and two with Fair Isle, Super Nurse, Royal Minstrel, Demimonde. Sure Phoebe, Dancing Years, Belle Renarde and Rosiere. He gained one win with each of Luckylast, Scottish Note, Mighty Falla, Deveron, Spring Creek, Surfnan. Cembala, Green Label, Earl Marie, Lancewood, Dinnie Daley, Trueco, Kingsdown Direct, Don Hall, Silver Wood, Battalion and Aula.
