FAST 200 METRES BY CHATAWAY
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, June 11. The four-minute miler. Chris Chataway, today failed by only 2.4 seconds in an attempt on the world 2000-metre record. Chataway’s smin 9.4 sec was the third fastest 2000 metres ever run, and was the best time ever run in Britain. The Belgian. Gaston Reiff’s, record for the distance has stood for almost seven years.
