ROYAL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
QUEEN THANKS N.Z. i FOR GREETINGS (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 11. The Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie) has received the following cablegram from the Queen in reply to a message of congratulations sent to Her Majesty on the occasion of the official celebration of her birthday:— “Please convey to the Government and peoples of New Zealand and its island territories, my sincere thanks for the kind and loyal message you have sent on their behalf. I greatly appreciate the expression of their good wishes on the celebration of my birthday.”
DUKE ACKNOWLEDGES N.Z. MESSAGE
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 12. The Duke of Edinburgh has replied to a message of greetings and best wishes from New Zealand, sent to him on the occasion of his birthday on Friday, by the Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie). The reply from His Royal Highness says:—“l was delighted to receive the message of greetings that you sent on behalf of New Zealand. Please convey to all concerned my gratitude for their good wishes.”
