Japan’s Admission To G.A.T.T.
GENEVA, June 7. Japan today signed the “first step” document towards her admission to the Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
This protocol, containing the terms 01 Japanese accession to G.A.T.T., will how be sent to all 34 G.A.T.T. members.
A two-thirds majority of votes in japan’s favour by August 11 would her entry. The -{terms follow the pattern of the protocol for the admission of countries and compel Japan to JPPIy all GA.T.T. provisions and tariff concessions. \
