MASEFIELD SHIELD MATCH

Banks Peninsula and Ellesmere drew, 5all, in a Masefield Shield match, played at Little River on Qpeen’s Birthday. It was good, fast football, watched by a record crowd. For Ellesmere. R. Moffat scored a try, which G. Patterson converted, and L. Munro scored and C. Vanstone converted for Peninsula.

In a junior match for the Craw Cup, Ellesmere beat Banks Peninsula by 24 points to 3. For Ellesmere tries were scored by A. Freeman (3), E. Johnson (2). I. Mills and B. Allen, and Johnson kicked a penalty goal. J. Frew scored for Peninsula.
