Among the members of the Risingholme Community Centre are 50 children whose ages range from seven to 13 years, and whose great interest is drama. The group, which is known as the Junior Theatre, has been active for the last 10 years. On Saturday they presented “Wiggles the Wizard” at a matinee and an evening performance. Highlights of the presentation were the splendour and colour of the costumes and settings, the naturalness of the children’s acting, and their obvious love of the theatre. The Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, formed 30 years ago, will hold its annual conference thia year in the Wellington Town Hall from June 28 to July 1. Mrs N. Schroeder, of Rai Valley, the Dominion president, will preside, and it is hoped that Mrs C. K. Wilson, a foundation member and former Dominion president, will attend. Last year the division had 758 branches, with about 40 executive councils, and these numbers have increased during the last year. As each branch may send one delegate to the conference and each executive more than one, it is probable that about 1000 delegates will attend the conference. Mrs M. Orchard (provincial president), Mrs A. Stott (organiser), Mrs F. Chapman (vice-president) and Mrs R. A. Ambridge (housekeeper secretary) will be the official delegates from the Canterbury provincial executive.
