Isitially attention will be given to probems connected with the painting of fibrous plaster with particular attention to the interaction between the paint and the plaster, including the relationship between the chemical and physical characteristics of the plaster and the behaviour of the decorative treatment. This will involve a studs’ of the pore structure of the fibrous plaster and of the movement of moisture through that structure. Contact will be maintained with manufacturers. and some field work, requiring inter-State travel, will be necessary.
