AIR TERMINAL BUILDING

“NO IMPROVEMENT FOR WINTER” “We have now reached June, and still we have no improvement to the Hare wood terminal building for the winter,” said Mr F. W. Petrie at a meeting of the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. He was commenting on a letter, dated May 16, from the Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast), stating that a meeting of the Christchurch Airport Committee would be convened, “subsequent to the presentation of the petition concerning the overseas terminal buildings to the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) on May 16.” Mr J. R. Smith moved that the chamber should ask the City Council for an early meeting of the airport committee, as there were matters of urgency to be discussed. Mr P. M. Mac Shane seconded the motion, which was carried without dissent.
