BADMINTON

AUSTRALIANS’ TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND

An Australian badminton team will tour New Zealand from July 14 until August 3, when a test will be played at Palmerston North. The same travelling arrangements have been made as for the last team's tour. Two teams of two men and two women Will separately tour the North and South Islands before uniting for the test. The southern party will begin its tour from Christchurch, appearing in Oamaru the same day, then travelling to Dunedin to play the South Island—also on July 14. After playing at Roxburgh and Invercargill, the players will return to Christchurch to meet Canterbury on July 27. After this game the tourists will appear at Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson, and Greymouth, completing their three-week tour of the South Island with a match at Westport. On August 6 the united teams will play New Zealand at Palmerston North for the Whyte trophy. After this final match the entire team will return to Christchurch to fly to Sydney on August 8. The Canterbury Badminton Association has not yet had the hall for the Canterbury match confirmed.
