QUEEN’S COLOUR PARADE
Ceremony Next Month At Woodbourne BOY ENTRANT. . TO AIR ’ FORCE (New Zealand Press Association) BLENHEIM, May 26. Boy entrants to the Royal New Zealand Air Force stationed at Woodbourne will make history for their service cn the Queen’s Birthday, June 0. when they will parade the Queen’s Colour presented to the Air Force by Her Majesty at Whenuabai on December 28, 1953. It is intended that the ceremony .will becqme an annual one. '
The ceremony will be attended by the Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie), heads of the services, anil Government representatives. Today the boy entrants under their commander (Squadron Leader S. C. Field) rehearsed the intricate ceremonial which, similar to the Army’s Trooping the Colour, has been adapted by Squadron Leader J. Seal, staff officer, general service training, who was present today. The Royal New Zealand Air Force is the only air force in the Commonwealth to which the Colour has been presented personally by the Sovereign.
