The weather forecast, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation—A ridge of high pressure is spreading over New Zealand from the south-west. Forecast:— All Districts.—Light winds; weather fair to fine; temperatures cold. Outlook: fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a moderate south-west wind ana a maximui.. temperature of 52.6 degrees. . At midnight the sky was almost clear, and there was a light wind from the west-north-west. The temperature was 323 degrees. The barometer, at 29.8 in (10093 millibars), was falling steadily.
