GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS H. L. SCOTT Mr and Mrs H. L. Scott, of 162 William street, Ashburton, who recently celebrated their golden wedding were married at Bushside in 1905. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at their home when the family and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion. Visitors came from as far as Auckland and Bluff, and congratulatory telegrams and messages were received from aU parts of New Zealand. Mr Garth Young who was present at the wedding in 1905, presided at the gathering. Mr Scott spent most of his married life in the employ of the New Zealand Railways and was stationed at Warepa for many years. He transferred to Winslow about eighteen years ago and two years later retired to Ashburton. Mr and Mrs Scott have 16 children, 14 of whom were able to be present at the celebrations. There are 14 greatgrandchildren.
