TREASURE RING WINS STEEPLECHASE (New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, May 22. The Waikato Racing Club’s winter meeting concluded on Saturday in showery weather. The track was heavy. The winning double, Sonnetary-Ban-dera, paid £743 14s 6d for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £104,373, including £14,231 on the double. FIELD CHIEF SWABBED Field Chief was swabbed as a routine measure at the South Canterbury Jockey Club s meeting at Washdyke on Saturday. He was runner-up to Demijour in the Elloughton Handicap.
