TWO YOUTHS SENT TO BORSTAL During the month of April, Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., and his associates whh Tn Bnd W ’ C ’ Colee ’ deali W!th the following eases in the Chllaren s Court:— On a complaint that he was not under proper control, a nine-year-old boy was placed under the supervision of a Child Welfare Officer for two years.
A youth, aged 17, whose case was referred from the Magistrate’s Court, was admonished and discharged on a charge of obscene exposure. Two youths, aged 16, who appeared before the Court on four charges of car conversion, were committed to a Borstal Institution. On a charge of stealing money from a room-mate a boy aged 16 was admonished and discharged. Two boys, aged 13 and 15, were admonished and discharged for using and haying in their possession a fire-arm being under the age of 16 years A monetary penalty was imposed on two youths, aged 16, when they were charged with concealing escapers from a State institution. Two girls, aged 16. were flned £ 1 each for being on licensed premises Supervision for one year was ordered when a girl aged 15 was charged with obtaining goods by false pretences. A boy, aged 13, was admonished and discharged for theft of a bicycle. For theft of articles from a departmental store, a boy, aged 14, was admonished and discharged For failing to give way' while riding 2 “otor-cycle, a youth, aged 16, was fined £2. For having no driver's licence, a youth of 16 was fined £l.
