SALARIES OF M.P.’S

Sir,—l would like to ask “Citizen No. 1” what private or State capitalism has to do with an increase in salaries of members of Parliament? I don’t like the proposed increase any more than “Citizen No. 1,” but did he, an obvious supporter of the Tory regime, which consistently opposes increases in wages, refuse to accept those increasep? I’ll bet he didn’t.—Yours, etc., 1955. A.F.P.
