Climbing Instruction.—An instruction week-end for the Canterbury University College Tramping Club was held at Arthur’s Pass over Anzac week-end. On Saturday instruction in ice and rock work was given at the foot of the Otira face to Mount Rolleston. Parties of six and four made various ascents on the Sunday. One which climbed Mount Philistine traversed the ridge to the top of Mount Rolleston (7453 ft The weather throughout the week-end was fine.
