MESSAGE FROM QUEEN
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 25. The Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie) has received the following telegram from the Queen: — “Once again on Anzac Day I am proud to join with my peoples in the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand in their observance of this day of glorious memory.” His Excellency has sent the following reply to Her Majesty:— “The Government and people of New Zealand, to whom Your Majesty’s gracious message has been communicated, deeply appreciate the association of Your Majesty with them in their commemoration of Anzac Day. On their behalf I respectfully tender grateful thanks and a renewed assurance of abiding loyalty.” GREEKS LAY WREATH AT AUCKLAND SERVICES’ DELEGATION FROM KOREA (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 25. A Greek delegation laid a wreath on the Cenotaph early this morning before leaving by air for the south. The wreath, bearing the Inscription: “In reverent memory. From the Greek delegation. For Anzac Day, 1955.”, was laid by Captain Georgois Letsas, who is serving with the Greek Army in Korea. He was attended by Captain Mikolaus-Kazekeas and Captain Byron Belissaroulis, both of the infantry, and Captain John Evagelou, of the Greek Air Force. The delegation will make a brief tour of New Zealand, laying wreaths in Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin before, returning to Korea.
