N.Z. YACHTSMAN MISSING
NEW YORK, April 23. Mr Sandy Wilson, listed as a New Zealander missing in the collision between the cargo vessel Parramatta and the yawl Suomi off the California coast yesterday, was a former Auckland journalist.
The collision occurred off Point Arguello while the Parramatta was on its way from San Francisco to Los Angeles harbour to load for Australian ports.
Mr Wilson was said to have been the navigator of the Suomi. He was skipper of the Leda in the 1951 Tasman yacht race.
