QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY AT WINDSOR
LONDON, April XL. The Queen spent her twenty-ninth birthday with her family at Windsor Castle today, where, according to Royal custom, there were only the ordinary family celebrations. Elsewhere in Britain salutes were fired and flags flew m honour of her birthday. This morning the Queen went riding in Windsor Great Park with her hutband.
Earlier she was awakened by her children, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, who were eager to give her the presents they had chosen and bought with their own pocket money. The messages of congratulation which poured in from all over the world Included a telegram from Sir Winston Churchill.
