CONFERENCE ON CARE OF AGED

PROVISIONAL AGENDA PREPARED WELLINGTON MEETING IN JUNE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 22. A provisional agenda has been prepared for the national conference on the care of the aged, which will be held in Wellington in the social hall of Parliament Buildings from June 14 to June 17. / The agenda has been circulated to those bodies invited to be represented, with a request for their comments before it is finally adopted. The items at present on the agenda are:—The functions and responsibilities Of different organisations concerned with the interests of old persons; medical and nursing needs of the aged; general needs of the aged, including employment, recreational activities, adult education, training, and rehabilitation; living accommodation for old persons; financial assistance to the aged as individuals; and domestic and laundry services for old persons. It is proposed to set up, on the first morning of the conference, four committees, each to consist of about 12 delegates, and each to consider different items of the agenda. The committees will meet in the mornings and will report their findings to the plenary sessions of the conference. which will be held in the afternoon.
