ANZAC DAY
DAWN SERVICE AT WAR MEMORIAL First of the Anzac Day services in Christchurch on Monday will be the dawn ceremony in Cathedral square, ai ranged by the Christchurch branch of the Australian Returned Services’ League. The parade, of veterans, wearing uniform or mufti with decorations and medals, will assemble at 6 a.m. on the west side of the Square, and marqh to the war memorial near
The Australian Government will be represented at the service by the Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand (Mr W. R. Hudspeth), and the Minister of Defence (Mr T. L. Macdonald) will represent the New Zealand Government. Mr G. D. president of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association, will lay a wreath.
Music will be played by the Christchurch Salvation Army Band, and sung by the Christchurch Leidertafel. Last Post and Reveille will be sounded by buglers of the Christchurch West High School cadets. The service will be conducted by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren), the Dean (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan), and the Rev. V. R. Jamieson. The Anzac dedication will be read by Mr W. S. Burmaster, president of the Christchurch branch of the Australian R.S.A.
