CEMENT SILOS AT CASTLECLIFF
CONSTRUCTION OF THREE BEGUN
(New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, April 18. Work has begun at the wharf side at Castlecliff on the construction of three connected silos for the reception and bagging of bulk cement from the new vessel Golden Bay. Each silo’ will take 500 tons. An elevator shaft will be built alongside them. The cement will be discharged from the ship through a large-bore flexible hose. From there it will be pumped through a pipe line under the railway lines and to the silos. Provision is being made for rail, road, and bulk discharge from the silos.
