GOLD QUALITY AND MAINLANDER FAIL

Two New Zealand horses, Gold Quality and Malnlander, made an unsuccessful debut in Australian racing today when they were unplaced in the Moree Handicap, over one mile, at Randwick. Gold Quality started at 33 to 1 and Malnlander at 100 to 1. Gold Quality won at his last two starts in New Zealand before coming to Australia. They were the Egmont Stakes, on February 26, and the Opunake Cup, on March 19. , ~ , Mainlander’s last win was in the Nelson Jockey Club Cup, on May 15 last year. The profits from today’s meeting will go to the New South Wales Flood Relief fund.
