STEWART BEATS TUCK AT GREYMCFUTH (From Our Own Reporter) 1 GREYMOUTH, April ». The Tongan professional boxer, Stewart, gained a unanimous points decision over the New Zealand middleweight amateur champion, Vernon Tuck. in Tuck’g first professional contest, before a large crowd, over 10 rounds at Greymoulh tonight. It was the first professional contest at Greymouth in eisni years. Stewart, with greater ring experience, scored mare frequently in the in-fighting and with a straight right. Though Stewart appeared to tii-e a good deal over the last two rounds, he had piled up enough points to carry him to a narrow victory. Tuck wag inclined to miss a good deal in the early stages of the bout, and ti*‘? detracted from his performance. Stewart showed the benefit of concentrated training. Tuck weighed lOst 8)b, and Stewart lost 121 b. The referee was Mr Frank Beil. a n ? the judges Messrs Jack Beban and NeH Kiely. Preliminary bouts resulted:—C. Curti-. 9st 91b, beat P. Greaney, 4st; F. Bell. 6st 101 b, drew with R. Stewart (Kanieri), sst 131 b.
