OBITUARY
MR M. A. POWRIE ' Mr Malcolm Angus Powrie, a wellknown public accountant and grain and seed broker, died .in Christchurch this week, aged 75. Mr Powrie was born in Sydney and came to New Zealand when he was a child. He was educated at Christchurch Boys’ High School. Throughout his life he maintained an interest in volunteer army service. He enlisted for the Boer-War and stayed in South Africa about 10 years. He served in New Zealand during World War I, was a member of the Canterbury Officers’ Club, and was interested m Returned Services’ Association work. His sporting interests were rowing and yachting. Until a short time before his death he conducted his business as a public accountant. Mr Powrie’s wife died some years ago. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs N. W. Martin, of Martinbbrough, Wairarapa, and a son, Mr D.-C. Powrie, of Tauranga.
