Mr Adlai Stevenson, titular head of the Democratic Party, left today for a business trip to Africa leaving political circles still in doubt about his intentions for next year’s Presidential campaign. Observers believe that Mr Stevenson, the unsuccessful candidate in 1952, intends to postpone for several months a decision on whether to seek his party’s nomination next year. He is scheduled to make a series of speeches beginning in Philadelphia on May 24.
