Stevenson’s Plans ’ Still In Doubt (NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTOIN, April 17. Mr Adlai Stevenson, titular head of the Democratic Party, left today for a business trip to Africa leaving political circles still in doubt about his intentions for next year’s Presidential campaign. Observers believe that Mr Stevenson, the unsuccessful candidate in 1952, intends to postpone for several months a decision on whether to seek his party’s nomination next year. He is scheduled to make a series of speeches beginning in Philadelphia on May 24. The reaction to these speeches, coupled with political developments in the interval, might have a strong influence on whether Mr Stevenson, who is now back in private practice as a lawyer, seeks nomination, observers
