OPAWA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS The following are the results of the finals of the Opawa Tennis Club’s championship and handicap events for the 1954-55 season:— Championship Events Men’s Singles (G. L. Bowron Cup).— I. D. Armstrong beat D. B. Reid, 6-1, 6-3. Women’s Singles (Lieutenant-Colonel G. J. Smith and Robert Malcolm’s Cup). —Mrs D. W. Armstrong beat Miss P. M. Evans, 6-2, 6-1.

Men’s Doubles (C. N. Franklin Cup).— A. N. Bailey and I. D. Armstrong beat W. J. K. Averill and S. F. C. Clar£e, 7-5, 6-8, 6-1. Women’s Doubles (G. D. Goodhart Rose Bowl).—Mrs M. E. Hendy and Miss B. R. Burrowes beat Mesdames D. W. Armstrong and G. C. Iggo, 6-3, 6-1. Under 21 Boys’ Singles (W. S. Clayton Cup).—S. F. C. Clarke beat M. H. Crozier, 6-1, 7-5.

Under 21 Girls’ Singles (Keith White Cup).—Miss P. M. Evans beat Miss P. A. Hendy, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Mixed Doubles (W. R. Rollinson Cup).— W. J. K. Averill and Miss B. R. Burrowes beat H. C. Hill and Mrs B. Johnstone, 6-3, 6-1.

Handicap Events Men’s Singles (Anthony Wilding Cup). —H. W. Hunter beat D. B. Reid, 6-3, 6-2. Women’s Singles (J. E. Garland Cup). —Miss P. M. Evans beat Miss R. N. Loader, 8-10, 6-4, 6-1.

Men’s Doubles (C. N. Franklin Trophy). —W. J. K. Averill and H. W. Hunter beat T. Jackson and M. A. Lockie, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.

Women’s Doubles (Mrs Watt Trophy).— Mrs M. E. Hendy and Miss P. A. Hendy beat Mrs O. Tregear and Mrs D. W. Armstrong, 12-10, 7-5. Mixed Doubles (Walter Butler Cup).— S. F. C. Clarke and Mrs B. Johnstone beat C. Blunt and Mrs M. E. Hendy, 6-3, 6-4. School Children’s Event (Byrne Shield). —Boys: Ronald Hopkinson beat Roderick Martin, 9-3. Girls: Helen Hamilton beat Janice Beveridge, 9-5.
