LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS
JeABOUR CANDIDATES CHOSEN
Four employees of the Christchurch Transport Board are among the Labour Party candidates seeking election to the board on May 21. The list of candidates for the boprc ? and for the Christchurch Drainage Board, the election for which will be on the same day, were announced yesterday by the Christchurch Labour Representation Committee as follows:
Transport Board.—Central,« Messrs H. E. Denton, N. R. F&rbes, J. E. Jones, R. T. Newman, J. Shankland, jun., and L. Southon; Avon, Mr J. Mathison; Heathcote, Mr R. F. Sullivan; Riccarton, Mr J; A. Gregor. Drainage Board.—Avon, Mr H. E. Denton; Christchurch north-east, Mr R. J. Stubberfield; Christchurch northwest, Mrs E. Clement; Heathcote, Mr R. F. Sullivan; Linwood, Mr A. J. Smith: Riccarton, Mr W. Cole; St. Albans, Mr J. L. Laby; Spreydon, Mr R. Stillwell; Sydenham, M» G. Robinson; Waimairi. Mr J. A. Gregor; Woolston, Mr C. Williams. Messrs Robifison and Williams are sitting members. Three further nominations will be made before nominations close on Thursday.
