MEMBERS RETURN FROM SYDNEY

The New Zealand equestrian tear that has been competing in the Royt Sydney Easter Show returned to Well ington in the Wanganella today. 1 jumping events at the Show itsel at Camden, and at Warwick Fan members of the team gained thre firsts, four seconds, six thirds, an one fourth. They look forward no’ to a possible meeting with New. Sout Wales, Victorian, and Tasmania horsemen at New Zealand shows j October and November. “The standard of both horses an riders in Australia has improve greatly since our last 4eam was ther in 1953,” said the manager of tt team (Mr B. G. Rutherford). “Australia is sending a team to tt Olympic riding events in Stockhol: next year. The enthusiasm of tl 230,000 people who attended the liasti Show and saw Australia beat Nte Zealand for the first time at sho jumping gave the impression.. th Australia will have little trouble raising the £35,000 or more needt to send an Olympic team away.”
