MISSING MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS
DEATH IN HOSPITAL (New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, April 18. Eighty-year-old Mr William Andrew Andrews, who had been missing for a week from his home at Clive, died late last night, a few hours after he had been found unconscious on the bank of the Tutaekuri river. He was found by two youths lying unconscious in long grass under a group of gum trees a mile from his home. It is believed he had been there for seven days while a Dominion-wide search was being made for him. The police were advised soon after 4 p.m. yesterday, and an ambulance rushed him to the Napier Public Hospital.
