The sale of part of the Balmacewan golf links, which could fetch from £15,000 to £20,000 if subdivided into building sections, will be considered by the Otago Golf Club next month. Money from the sale of six acres qf land would help the club out of its financial difficulties. The proposed subdivision, which represents only a small part of the 127-acre course, is divided into three blocks containing 28 sections. A similar proposal was rejected by members four years ago but those who support the present scheme, which will be considered at a special meeting of club members on May 12, have reason to believe it will be favourably i received.
